If you think that black cherries are only good for decorating your cocktail, this beer will change your mind in a flash. This brew delivers the extraordinary flavor combination of cherries and high-quality bourbon with the alcohol content of beer. Cherry and bourbon seem to be made for each other when you merge this brew into one beer mug. If this is not enough for you, we added a touch of vanilla, to enrich the flavor even more.

First gluten free beer. Tastes like a wine cooler. Pours a light red color with no head. Aroma is cherries. Taste is crisp and dry. Only a hint of bourbon. Interesting experience.

A: The beer is clear pink in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short white head that quickly settled down, leaving a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of black cherries are present in the nose.
T: The taste has moderate flavors of black cherry cream soda with a slight bit of bourbon in the finish.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This “beer” is like an adult version of a cream soda but hides its alcohol very well.
Serving type: can

Looked nice but was very difficult to drink. Too sweet and didn't taste like beer. For some people that might not be a problem, but for me it was.

I agree with the earlier review that called this "beer" a cocktail.....but a good one. It tastes nothing like a normal beer. It does taste, look and smell like black cherries. I normally go for moderately hoppy stuff with an IBU OF 45-60. This is totally different but I still like it.

12 oz can of "Black Cherry Bourbon Barrel Tea Beer" from Ohio with a July 2018 canning(?) date stamp. Gluten free.
Pours with a pretty, clear rose colored body topped by a short-lived head.
Cherries with faint bourbon and vanilla in the aroma. The flavor carries tart cherries, faint bourbon barrel, alcohol and hints of honey with faint vanilla appearing in the finish and aftertaste.
Smooth, medium body.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, best before 8/21/2018. Pours slightly hazy deep orange/amber/light reddish color with a small foamy off white head with poor retention, that reduces to a thin ring of lace that lingers. Minimal lacing on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big juicy/light tart/tangy black cherries, fruit skin/pits, bourbon, vanilla, honey, brown sugar, and herbal tea earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of cherries, bourbon, vanilla, tea, and sugar notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy/light tart/tangy black cherries, fruit skin/pits, bourbon, vanilla, honey, brown sugar, and herbal tea earthiness. Light herbal tea bitterness and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of juicy black cherries, fruit skin/pits, bourbon, vanilla, honey, brown sugar, and herbal tea earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of cherries, bourbon, vanilla, tea, and sugar flavors; with a great malt/tart/bitterness balance; and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitter/tartness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately sugary/sticky/tangy/acidic, fairly crisp, and lightly tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 9%. Overall this is an excellent gluten free fruit beer. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of cherries, bourbon, vanilla, tea, and sugar flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink with the mellow acidic/tangy/drying finish. Not overly sweet/heavy for the ABV. This works really well for a gluten free beer, though I am not sure what the sugar source is from. Perfectly balanced cherries, sugars, tea, bourbon, and vanilla flavors. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example as expected. All have been impressive.

Sorry but this is a cocktail, not a beer. And it's fabulous. The look smell taste and feel are all akin to a cocktail. The best cheery martini you've ever had with a malty kick. It's my new fave.
