Probably this brewer's best seller locally.

Very hazy pale orange colour.

Aroma of grain malt and tart citrus.

Slightly sour, slightly astringent taste with notes of sweet orange trying to sneak in

I found the feel to be quite watery and the finish tended towards that previously mentioned astringency.

Honestly I find their stouts and porters to be better crafted than this offering but hey..if the locals love it...

This beer looks tasty in the glass. Head dissipates quickly. Cloudy orange in colour. Smells like a blonde ale with oranges added. I don't pick up any hop aromas here, could be my lack of experience. Its tasty and refreshing. Bursting orange flavour that has minimal bitterness. Would like it to have more carbonation. Overall a refreshing light beer that makes you wanna grab another.

Appearance - Pours a cloudy apricot orange with a finger width of bubbly white head that recedes quickly.

Smell - Tart blood orange (juice and pulp), grainy malts, leafy hops. Predominantly orange citrus.

Taste - Sweet and mellow blood orange (not as tart as the aroma would lead you to believe), with a grainy/biscuity malt finish.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Slightly dry in the finish.

Overall - If you like a sweet citrus ale, this is a good one to try. I was hoping for a bit more tartness, as that is what I enjoy the most when eating a blood orange, and to capture that in a bottle would be amazing.

355ml can poured into tulip.

Pours a fetching golden yellow with two plump fingers of off-white head that leaves thick root system lace as it recedes.

Smells of crisp wheat malt, sliced orange, peppery yeast and mild leafy hops.

Tastes of crackery wheat malt, orange and lemon juice, dusty pepper and more soft flowery hops.

Feels crisp and light. Light bodied with peppy carbonation. Finishes off-sweet.

Verdict: Recommended. I happen to be thirsty right now, so this is just what I wanted.

16oz glass at the Underground in DTYEG, before seeing the new Star Wars Rogue One flick on New Year's Eve. At any rate, this is certainly the first instance of this newbie Albertan brewery that I've seen around here.

This beer appears a cloudy, medium apricot amber colour, with a thin cap of wispy and mildly bubbly off-white head, which leaves a bit of streaky and elongated island chain lace around the glass as things easily recede.

It smells of semi-sweet, bready and doughy pale malt, a bit of spicy wheatiness, earthy yeast, muddled exotic citrus flesh, white pepper, and some very tame leafy and floral green hop bitters. The taste is bittersweet orange and lemon rind, mixed pale and wheaten malt notes, a laid-back yeastiness, and more leafy, weedy, and musty 'verdant' hoppiness.

The carbonation is fairly benign in its quotidian frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and generally smooth, with a nice aerosol creaminess arising as things warm up a tad around these parts. It finishes off-dry, the orange fruitiness and wheaty cereal character performing their best summertime patio impersonation.

Overall, this is a pleasant enough fruity ale (the typically knowledgeable establishment shitting the bed as it describes it as being 'refreshing like a lager', WTF?), and easy to drink, given the low-balling ABV. WRONG time of year, yet RIGHT time of beer, in my humble, worn out opinion.
