This Spiral Architect is brewed with El Dorado and Citra hops. Big orange and tangerine flavors dominate, and it has been described as orange life savers. A mild malt backbone lets these hope varieties shine.

A great NEIPA. Cloudy and opaque in color. Ripe juice with a slight sweetness. Enjoyed this very much!

Had at Counter Weight on tap into a teku glass. Nice bright amber color with lots of cloudiness but not gravy thick. Really clobbers you with that fresh hop aroma at first whiff. Flavor is barely sweet and has tons of hops swirling around. Good grapefruit pith notes and lots of herbal dankness. Finish is pretty bitter but for 8.2% this settles nicely. I prefer this one over the green label for sure.

Look: Hazy, muddy, golden brown. Pillowy one finger of white head. A lot of floaties in the glass. It's hazy, but it doesn't completely look like a NE IPA.
Smell: Peaches and cream. Big yogurt and peach, maybe a hint of tangerine and lime. But the nose is dominated by yogurt and peaches.
Taste: It's like the nose lots of yogurt and peaches, lime juice, tangerine. More lime comes through on the plate. Has an herbal hop quality in the finish. A hint of dry malt. But for the most part it's like a bowl of yogurt with peaches and lime juice added to it.
Feel: Medium bodied. A nice amount of creaminess. It's smooth and soft on the palate. A moderate amount of carbonation. A way better mouthfeel then the last beer I had from them.
Overall: A really well made beer. Unique in a good way. Has a different flavor profile then most of the NE IPA'S. This is in that A- A range. Just a step below some of the world class examples in this style.

A: Mostly clear with a light haze, frothy two finger head and a darker pale malt color.
S: Stone fruit, pale malt, caramelized sugars with pear and honey notes.
T: Smooth, highly drinkable with a high abv. Large notes of caramelized candied clementine, orange peel and grapefruit. El dorado pineapple with stone fruit and a well rounded juicy double ipa
M: Thick with a medium carbonation MF
O: Overall very good. I havent had more than a draft of the standard Spiral Architect, but compared to that draft, I enjoyed this more, felt there was more fruit flavors on the tropical side. Perhaps fresher was the key, but Ill have to compare notes next time it is available.
