Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into a snifter. The beer pours a very dark cola brown color with a tan frothy head of 3 cm that foams up and fades to almost nothing pretty quickly into the sampling.
The aroma is roasted malt and some coffee grounds with just the faintest hint of charred wood or grain.
No hint of the ABV nor much of a hop profile on the nose of this brew.
First sip reveals a lighter body than expected with smooth texture and a very active tingly carbonation.
The flavor is a little bit of dark chocolate, not sweet or milk chocolate here. I then get coffee grounds and some roasted notes. The finish is very dry and leaves a lingering coffee astringency on my palate. The booze is again well hidden and this beer drinks very easy.
I dont get hops here either.
this is a very nice coffee stout and I would recommend to others if this style is your jam.

16oz can purchased at the brewery. Pours a blackish dark brown with over an inch of frothy brown head. Lots of lacing. Roasty aroma of coffee, chocolate syrup, earth, caramel and chocolate covered espresso beans. The taste is dark coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malts, molasses, caramel, cappuccino and earth. Lots of carbonation with a medium to heavy body.
