Vignette is a mix culture Saison, fermented with various strains of lactobacillus and brettanomyces and then aged in a foeder for over a year.

Moderate citrus, soft oak, mild tartness and a hint of brett funk.

This saison is an expression of time, care and evolution.

The bottle calls this a "Foeder-aged Farmhouse Ale," while the Counterweight website defines it as "a mix culture Saison, fermented with various strains of lactobacillus and brettanomyces and then aged in a foeder for over a year."

A traditional representation of farmhouse ale that is on the tart side, but finishes dry. Not surprising given the mixed yeast profile. My experience with this style of beer is limited to offerings from OEC, Allahgash, and Two Roads; all of which differ on their takes of the style. Vignette is more of an OEC take on the style.
