Pours an effervescent amber with a sliver of fast-falling beige head. Traces of lacing & head retention
S: Rich breadyness, grainyness, lime
T: Follows the nose, some dryness as well up front. More sweet breadyness, lime & a little grainyness along with dryness once warm. Finishes dry, toasty with lime
MF: Medium body slight carbonation. Body thins a little & carbonation picks up, good balance
Drinks pretty easy, solid take on the style

Was excited to see these cans in the cooler at the local beer shop. Pouring a 16 oz can cold temp into my .5L dimple mug. Canned on date stamp of 11/16/2021.
The beer pours a clear amber color into my mug. A fluffy eggshell white head of 1.5 cm foams up and fades slowly to a thin edge layer and some wispy islands on the surface. Several streams of carbonation rise to the surface.
Aroma is some whole wheat bread, toasted grain and caramel. Definitely malt forward nose as I dont really get any hop scents. No ABV on the nose either.
First sip reveals a medium body with smooth texture and fine yet tingly carbonation. Beer drinks very easy and dries out on the finish.
Flavor is caramel and brown sugar up front with some toasted grain notes in the middle. Maybe it is the reuben I had for dinner, but I keep tasting spicy rye in the background. Pretty mild but I do taste it most sips. The flavor does have some mild hop character with a bit of grassy vegetal not just before each swallow.
Never any hint of the ABV and this beer drinks very easy. Would expect nothing less than this great beer on a collab between two great breweries!

Canned on 11/8/21; consumed on 11/30/21
Pours a clear, dark mahogany body sporting a soft amber varnish and capped with a finger and a half of near-creamy, off-white foam; decent head retention yields a paper-thin, richly textured layer of cap along with a moderate, fluffy collar and webs/spots of lacing dotted across the walls of the glass.
Aroma opens to fresh brown bread with a slight doughy malt undertone and an implacable brown sugar accent leaning toward brown toast, caramel, and hints of roasted malts steadily over time.
Taste features brown sugar cut with a deft minerality upfront as toasty malts encroach into sensations of floral hops over the mid-palate; tinges of burnt dough linger toward brown bread crust on the back end as caramel esters finish with a soft, malty char.
Mouthfeel brings a light body with a rounded, moderate-full carbonation dispersing a level spritz across the palate; creamy textures over the mid-palate give way to a gentle prickle gliding through the back end, leaving an entirely clean and even finish accented with a subtle crispness.
A taut, well-kept Vienna lager, sporting a calm robustness, remaining roasty while trending sweet and ultimately maintaining a perceptible equilibrium through base-level complexity; almost deceptively well-done and wholly enjoyable take on the style.

L: Pours a pale to medium amber color with good clarity. The pour yields two fingers of a fine, off-white head that slowly falls to a 2mm ring around the circumference of the glass with a thin sheet of head occupying the interior. As I drain the beer a light, ringed lacing is left behind.
S: Toasted malt character, bready malt character, a light earthy quality, and just a hint of nuttiness.
T: Bready malt, toasted malt, honey bread crust, and light notes of earthy floral hops with a minimal touch of noble hop spice. The finish has a light hoppy bitterness and toasty malt aftertaste.
F: Medium-light body with medium to medium-light carbonation. The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy with a very light dryness on the finish.
O: This was better than any fest bier I sampled this fall (including Counterweight's and NEBCO's). The beer is malt forward (as it should be) with the hops perfectly balancing the malty sweetness. I was lucky enough to try this on tap at the brewery last weekend and it was quite the treat. On tap the mouthfeel shines a bit more, but even from the can this is still highly recommended. What an amazing collab, but honestly my dream collaboration for Counterweight (besides NEBCO) is von Trapp Brewing. A boy can dream, can't he?
