L- It pours and OMG it's like Barbie has landed and ordered her dream beer. This is the pinkest beer I have ever seem, shocking pink. Clear + very thin white/pink head that clears quickly.
S- Yep: Cherries, and that's it. Oh except maybe some bubble-gum type sweetness.
T- Good grief, well it's like cherryade drunk while chewing two bars of Bazooka Joe bubble-gum. The only suggestion this drink might be related to beer is a brief dry flourish in it's tail.
F- If you can get over the Smell and Taste it comes over as pretty thin on Feel.
O- I'm amazed this is brewed in Japan. Presumably it's pitched at young women with exotic/contemporary beer tastes. I used to live in Tokyo c25 years ago and simply cannot imagine the locals there, then or now, drinking this.
Bought from The Japan Centre, by Leicester Square in London. Reduced from £8.25 (!) to £4.13 for a 330ml bottle, BB: 15-Oct-2019. Either way I'm certainly not buying this again, I'd thought it might be like a classy Belgian cherry-kriek done with the usual Japanese sophistication and restraint; well it's not, what a shame.
Having bought this in the UK the original lable also comes translated which is handy, it lists:
'Cherry Happoshu Low Malt Beer - Water, Sugar, Malt, Cherry, Hops, Anthocyanin colouring, Flavouring'. Reach your own conclusions.

A 330ml bottle dated best before 28th October 2015 and poured into a pint glass.
Appearance: The beer poured a slightly hazy dull pinkish red colour with a half finger head that disappeared almost immediately.
Aroma: Strong aromas of candied cherry, some bubblegum, cherry syrup.
Taste: Immediate taste of candied cherry (like cherry soda) but then all of a sudden less than 2 seconds later, it all disappears. You’re expecting some sweetness or something, but its not there at all. It pretty much becomes like extremely watered down cherry water.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied with light carbonation.
Overall: I saw cherry, and I didn’t need any more persuasion to buy this beer. This beer was happoshu based and there’s nothing wrong with that. I also enjoy cough medicinal flavours, and this kind of had this at first, but then it disappeared even quicker. Watered down cherry water, that’s what I got… it started off fine and then just fell off. I don’t know how I finished the whole thing…
