Fouder-aged classic Belgian style Saison. Funk in just the right places. Totally one of Cory's favorite beers.

Poured from 500mL bottle into a tulip.

Appearance: light yellow hue with a dash of haze and a finger of frothy white foam. Perfectly reasonable for the style.

Smell: a little wood, a light funk, a hint of sour; there's just a dash of fruity sweetness here as well. I think it's quite nice indeed.

Taste: there's a bit more funk than in the aroma here, and more farmhouse saison flavor as well (in the olden days, I would have said horse blanket, but that's not really de rigueur anymore). The sourness at the end complements the funk more than any sweet or fruity flavors; still good, but quite different than the aroma.

Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a big carbonation and a satisfying creaminess.

Overall: this is a nice and refreshing beer. Not too much funk or sourness, and just enough farmhouse to be a satisfying saison. I dig it!

Clear golden brew with plenty of white foam in the wine glass. Bubbly and tangy in the mouth. Light body with a sparkle. Clean and wheaty but not at all sweet. Faint beery aroma with a whiff of yeast and straw.

Dry finish with some of the barrel flavor and a little lemon in the aftertaste. This is quite a classic Saison in the more complex and dry style. It's really not very fruity but it reminds me of cider with the bitterish apple tang. From the 500 ml bottle purchased at Elizabeth Station in Bellingham.
