500ml bottle of Matchless's Harvest Moon, a "foudre aged fresh hopped saison ale". Served in a tulip glass. Beer has a great cloudy gold appearance which looks fantastic in the tulip. Essentially no head formation. Fresh yeasty aroma suggests to me grass clippings. A bit of sourness over a beery body which otherwise resembles pale ale: malt and hops in balance. Floral hops appear in the flavor more so than the aroma.
Adding the yeast from the bottom of the bottle produces an even murkier, but not much darker, brew. Sourness is really accented by the sharp carbonation.
Probably an excellent saison, if somewhat untraditional on account of the fresh mosaic hops. The oak foudres don't really do much for me one way or the other.
