Beautiful red auburn color with long-lasting off-white foam in the Troubadour tulip. Spritzy and lush on the tongue, just what you want, mate. This is the nuttiest beer I can remember, with distinct walnut and filbert. Mellow malt from start to finish. Aromatic with more of the same. Clean and rich but not overly sweet.
This is the really malty version of an ESB; some I've had are more thin and bitter. But it's about the best I can remember tasting, at least of the American versions. Goal for Matchless! From the 16 oz can purchased at The Cave in Kirkland. Date is on the lower corner of the label: 8/16/21.

Can from Beermongers
A very dark caramel with a light brown head with excellent retention and lacing. The nose has soft toffee, toast, dark caramel along with a classic English hop character, earthy, mineraly, leafy and a little minty. The palate opens with a firm bitterness, earthy and minty, with toffee, caramel, dark brown sugar and a lovely toast character. Soft, creamy, bittersweet finish.
