Drank from a 1 pint can purchased at New Park Brewing, West Hartford, CT
Canned on: 12/04/19
Served in a teku

Really impressive appearance. The cloudy, straw yellow body was capped by an impeccably tight, frothy, finger-tall, bright white crown that fell to a thick, clingy collar. Drippy steaks of lacing stuck along the glass and lasted until the drink’s end.

The aroma was amazingly dank and fruity. I could smell this beer as soon as I cracked the can. Huge cannabis-like presence. Super potent, high quality bud came to mind. Loads of ripe tropical fruitiness as well. Juicy mango and guava notes were most prominent. Some freshly picked peaches and apricots came through as well. Overall, really spectacular.

The flavor profile was just as impressive as the nose. Again, Mosaic hop notes dominated. Loads of potent, sticky cannabis. Big citrus presence too. Nice melding of tangy tangerine, juicy orange flesh and zesty orange peel. Ripe mango was also noticeable. Ruby red grapefruit appeared on the back end and carried into the finish. Hint of pithy, rind-like bitterness.

Outstanding mouthfeel. The beer was amazingly plush and smooth. Fuller bodied for the style. The liquid contained a fine, fairly aggressive effervescence that turned ultra creamy and fluffy on the palate.

While New Park Brewing might be best known for their Blender series beers, their IPAs have been nothing less than stellar. Being a huge fan of Mosaic hopped beers, Double Fragment is at the top of my list for their hoppy offerings. All in all, this is an exceptional take on the style.

This beer is fantastical! Reminds me of Heady. It’s got the onion dank going on. Love it!

16oz can from the brewery. Pours a hazy brownish orange color with 2 inches of frothy head. Lots of lacing. Fruity and herbal hop aroma. Orange, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, cherry, passion fruit, grass and some herbal hops. The taste is a blend of herbal, grassy and fruity hops. Herbal, almost oniony, at first followed by the fruits. Peach, tangerine, pineapple, lime and papaya. Dank and herbal finish. Oily mouthfeel with lots of carbonation. Medium to heavy body. Noticeable alcohol presence.

L - pours a muted dark orange with glowing milky fringes. Oily, sticky head with lacing that clings for dear life. The stickage is unreal.

S - massive aroma that hits like a freight train. Sticky and dank, fresh cut scallions, puckering grapefruit zest, and ripe pineapple tang. Oozing honey, crackery lemon, and hot, humid hop saturation.

T - warming hop-soaked tropical dankness a la pineapple, grapefruit, and onion. There's an orange cream gentleness that coats this beer like sweet fluff. Oat tartness and lemon-lime balance out the heaviness and bitterness. There's a jammy fullness about it that brings to the table flavors like apricot and papaya. Finish is sweet and muggy with minimal bitterness, although my mouth does feel a little numb...

F - oats give this a supremely smooth, velvety, and full feel. Satisfying and hearty, feels like drinking your dessert.

O - drinks similar to OG Fragment, but feels much heavier and more saturated. It's thick, creamy, and brimming with flavor. New Park stays true to what made Fragment a winner and kicks it up a couple small notches. Nothing earth-shattering over the original, but it is slightly improved in almost every way. Love this series.
