Blender Kiliki is our tiki-inspired Berliner Weisse, hopped with Mosaic and conditioned on massive amounts of pineapple, tangerine, and passionfruit. Big flavors of tropical punch, tangerine, and island breeze.

Drank from a 1 pint can purchased at New Park Brewing, West Hartford, CT
Canned on 09/25/19
Served in a teku
Big thanks to my sister Vanessa for grabbing us a few cans of this.
The beer poured a slightly hazed, dull brassy yellow hue. A small frothy film topped the body, but it quickly fell to a thin collar. Drops of lacing stuck along the glass.
The aroma was super tropical fruit forward. Pineapple came through strongest. Moderate amount of tangerine. Really sweet overall. This reminded me of a Hi-C juice box. Hint of passionfruit too, but this dissipated fairly quickly.
The flavor profile was a near carbon copy of the nose. Again, pineapple was most prominent. Tangerine came in a close second. Quite sweet. (Perhaps even more so than the nose.) Somewhat tart and tangy on the back end. Touch of lemon-like acidity. The beer finished with more sweetness and subtle notes of candied citrus peel.
The mouthfeel was fairly lackluster. Thinner bodied for the style. The liquid contained a very fine, mellow effervesce. Perhaps a bit more “zip” would have given the beer a lightness on the palate and tempered the syrupy sweetness.
I have loved nearly all of New Park’s Blender Series beers, but Kiliki was a bit too saccharine for my liking. Perhaps if the tartness from the passionfruit (and the base beer) came through stronger, this could have balanced out some of the sweetness.

L - pours a dull, straw haze with slight translucence. White-yellow head that doesn't spend much time in head-formation.
S - just like Cherry Pineapple blender, this is mostly pineapple juice on the nose. Hint of lemon candy and Sunny D.
T - unlike Cherry Pineapple, there's actually a little bit more going on here other than pineapple juice! Still a mainstay, but blends with other flavors of pulpy OJ, tart passionfruit, and fruit punch. Finishes dry and gritty.
F - low carbonation gives it a silky, viscous feel, especially for this low ABV and sour style. Fits with the fruit onslaught on display here.
O - as much as I love pineapple juice (at least 8oz every single morning), it's a bit overpowering in these Blenders, same as Cherry Pineapple. As a result, it can come across as a little one-dimensional, muting the other exciting flavors. Still tasty and it's great to start and end my night with the same drink, heh.
