On tap at Silva Brewing
A: Pours crystal clear golden straw yellow with a frothy off white head that settles to a thin layer and leaves a little light lacing.
S: Slightly dank grassy herbal notes, resinous pine, citrus zest, a little underlying tropical and stone fruit, and crackery biscuity malt.
T: Resinous pine, citrus, lemon and tangerine, a little tropical and stone fruit, peach, passion fruit, guava, and apricot, grassy slightly dank herbal notes, crackery biscuity malt, and just a touch of sweetness with a fairly dry finish.
M: A touch on the lighter side of medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: Solid Mosaic Westy. Not the most expressive I've ever had, but it would absolutely hit the spot on a warm sunny day.

Good beer, good interpretation of mosaic hop. It’s similar to lager not ipa for me.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a light to medium golden amber with a one finger white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, citrus and mixed tropical fruit hops, grapefruit, mango, lemon and mixed fruit. Flavor is pale malt with a little caramel, citrus, tropical fruit and lightly dank hops, grapefruit, pineapple, orange, mixed stone and tropical fruit; some pine resin and dankness in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A nice West Coast style IPA that has some hybrid qualities due to the Mosaic hops that give it quite a bit of tropical and mixed fruit notes as well as citrus (and a little pine in the finish). Appropriate and welcome bitterness throughout. Light in color for a IPA of this malt density, but not light in flavor. Lots of Mosaic herbal hop flavors and an interesting flavor progression. Nicely done.

Pours slight orangish yellow in color. Head was white but faded quickly. Interestedly there are what appears to be suspended carbonation. Nose piney citrusy. Taste is pineapple that gives way to bitterness that also fades quickly to a sweetness. Good Beer.

Being the obvious birder brewers, those at Silva celebrate the ever so precarious woodpecker with a Mosaic hopped West Coast IPA. Determined not to be the laughing stock at the beer isle, the beer's label is all smiles.
Laughing Pecker isn't just a cheeky name, its a foggy golden ale that streams with carbonation and tops off with a creamy white froth. As the mosaic of aromas roll off of the rim, there's a sense of tropical fruit, berry, vine and pepper that frame its scent. Sweeter in its initial taste, the malt profile is mild mannered with light bread, wafer and honey.
As the light malt profile drifts from the middle palate, the hops build upon with a bright and tropical flavor of passionfruit, papaya and the greener side of mango. Hints of more citrusy lime, lemon and pink grapefruit add a zesty flavor before hints of gooseberry, currant and white grape complete the fruity medley. Trending resinous and bitter, the late taste is peppery with black tea, hemp and verbena.
Medium bodied, crisp and somewhat a little watery and thin, the beer's body falls apart in the later portions of taste as the carbonation gives out way before the flavors are done. What's left is a long bitterness on the palate with lacking malt support. Mild suggestions of juniper and gin follow in a long and dry aftertaste.

On tap, into a big mug
One of the most impressive IPA’s I’ve had in awhile. Looks like a Pilsner, gentle bouquet with grassy tones and suggestions of berries. Flavors are piny, dank, honey sweet. But the profile is so well dialed in, disparate flavors form a singular note on your palate. Super refreshing, could throw this back all night long.

Clear amber brew with plenty of foam in the Piraat tulip. Described as "West Coast IPA" and 100% Mosaic hops. Aroma of mustard greens with a touch of onion. Mild flavor with a woody finish. Malt and grape flavors. Not much of anything like fruit or citrus. This is more meaty and grainy.
Modest bitter aftertaste. This is a distinctive hoppy brew that is also quite drinkable. A little longer-lasting carbonation would add to the pleasure. From the 16 oz can purchased at Bine & Vine.
