We are talking real history here... brewing in this spot since 1666. So of course, I had to categorize this as an EPA despite the use of American hops and the citrus theme.
Pulled from the cask at a pub at Gatwick Airport as I was waiting to leave after five weeks in the UK. So, I suppose it was a fitting place to end that journey. The ale was enjoyable and went with the pub food well enough. But I won't review it as I was too tired.
As for the brewer review, Truman's has a tale to tell. Preserving the heart of East London brewing since 1666 is a lot of work. But this brew recognizes the Bells of St. Mary le Bow as an influence on the East London Cockney accent. Beyond preserving history, they seem dedicated to their craft. And for that, I give them big OA Hugs.
