a cool ipa from these guys in collaboration with wiley roots, i believe originally brewed for the beers made by walking event, but i could be wrong. i havent had a lot of hoppy stuff from wiley roots, but this certainly is consistent with what outer range is doing, a big, well dry hopped, hazy ipa, very much in the east coast style, and very well done overall. despite the name and concept and other brewery involvement, this one doesnt strike me as nearly as unique as some of the others they are doing. the hops have some woodsy piney character to them, very northwestern to me, and also an herbal property, sage or tea or something aromatic and earthy, but this one is a little more balances than some of the others, a nice cerealy grain profile here, a touch of floral honey sweetness, and a roundness and bigness to the feel that makes it a little more substantial. bitterness is still really low, but it tastes like higher alpha varietals in here if that makes sense. awesome feel with the body but still super well carbonated. a fun beer to try, i love the local collaborations happening, the scene is coming together in a cool way sometimes, and while i prefer some of the other beers in this style from outer range, its another good one. clearly this is what they do best!
