From a one-day old growler to a tulip.

A-The beer is hazy (of course), but not as ugly as some. A half-finger of white head hangs around the glass for a while as I sip. The foam leaves a wave of fine lacing on the rim. The color is a rust-tinted yellow that reminds me of a banana.

S-The aroma is interesting and different than almost any other beer I have sniffed. I am picking up some sweet, juicy citrus notes, as well as tropical fruit like lychee and pineapple. A few more whiffs reveal a healthy flavor of grapefruit and some slightly medicinal bitter notes. The grapefruit is different and I am mostly digging it. There is a bitterness here, but unlike a lot of NE-style IPAs, the bitterness is more leafy and less aspirin like.

T-Grapefruit, pineapple, and a little bit of tartness and acidity; the taste is pretty similar to the smell. That leafy, medicinal bitterness becomes a bit stronger though and detracts from the juicy, fruity flavors.

M-The body is medium to lighter than average in heft. Carbonation is also average. The beer dries out on the finish but never gets overly chalky.

O-While the smell is interesting and inviting, the taste is a bit less interesting. Orographic Lift is decent, but I prefer some of the other NE-style beers from Outer Range.

Heard a lot of hype behind this one... Really didn't leave a good first impression. Flat mouthfeel, doughy nose. Kinda citrusy but more plastic taste than pine to back it up. Quite disappointing, this is nowhere close to the quality of Codename Superfan and not even in the same galaxy as Juicy Bits.

an incredible beer here, i am now convinced that these guys are one of the best in colorado already, these hoppy beers are just lights out, and while this one is a little more mild in terms of hop intensity than most of their others i have had, i absolutely loved this! on tap at hops and pie, looks like fresh squeezed orange juice in the glass, with the opacity of drywall dust in water, milky and thick, but with a really sunny hue to it, and a perfect pure white inch of lasting foam. smells citrusy and fresh, but its lacking the over the top dry hoppy oomph of a lot of their others, which i think lends itself to drinkability more than anything else, which is rather odd with the higher abv, but is more pale than ipa, and has orange and honey and canned pineapple flavors to it, juicy without being too much, confectioners sugar and mango juice to it too. soft body, creamy feeling but nicely carbonated too. these guys are killing it with the hoppy stuff, i havent had one yet that wasnt fantastic! this is up there with in the steep as my favorites!
