the beat goes on for these guys, who continue to really impress me each time i have one of their beers. a homie brought this one over for christmas, a big juicy hazy ipa hopped up with simcoe, citra, and wakatu, they seem to have somehow gotten more out of these hops than almost any other brewer out there. i mean, for the most part, this is a conventional mix of hops, but the beer is anything but standard. a pale muted golden color, somewhat viscous as they go, under a full inch of white head and emitting a crazy fruity aroma of passion fruit and fresh mango, lemongrass, and mandarin orange, fragrant and fresh as can be, supported by what must be white and raw wheat, lightly cerealy and crackery in behind. the flavor is just as good, with the wakatu fruitiness coming out a lot and jiving really well with the other hops in this heavily dry hopped context. i get orchard fruit and white wine, i get light sage and tea herbaceousness, and just a hint of grapefruit too from the simcoe, its a glorious mix of characterics from these hops, and the creamy but dry body is just right for it, doesnt drink anywhere near 8% abv! less bitterness than i am used to in the style, but its absence seems to extend the fruity hops much longer than normal in a beer that finishes dry, really enjoyable trajectory and overall hop complexion. i had this with some other heavy hitting beers in the same style, and it was a stand out. these guys are on some next level hoppy beers right now, fast becoming one of the best ipa brewers in the state, if not beyond!
