i have liked the belgian beers from these guys quite a lot, and this one is cool because its a crossover with their hoppy stuff, this almost drinks like a belgian ipa, and certainly is up there among the most hoppy takes on a wit i have ever had. its hazy and creamy and pale and lively, looks the part, summery and sort of delicate too. the aroma is really intense belgian yeast, fermented plenty warm obviously, with white pepper and fresh popcorn and lime zest and floral esters, very robust, pleasing though, and kind of cool with the intense dry hop profile here too, some pineapple and passion fruit and melon, bitter too though, a lot happening in the nose and its a bit confused i reckon, but its attractive enough. the flavor is a lot, the mild wheat malt first but just for a second, then intense estery even phenolic belgian yeast, then the hops, which are fruity in the beginning and intensely vegetal and bitter later on, too strongly flavored on the whole to be refreshing, which is what i usually want in a wit, but as a belgian ipa type, i think it works well. it doesnt warm up very well, but when its fresh poured from the tap and cold still i like it pretty well. its over the top, and could use a little toning down, but its cool these guys are fusing the two things they do best...
