a new hop called stonefruit (how original) is at the forefront of this collaboration with the infamous tap and handle in fort collins. its a cool beer, hazy like so many of the outer range beers are, but a little more see through and a paler shade than a lot of them, cleaner looking, with a short but lasting white head on it from the tap up there. nose is nectarines and apricots and green grapes and apples, really fruity but unique in that its not all citrus, in fact citrus is way back behind these other fruits, which i think is cool in one of these, but like all their beers, its mostly all dry hops, and while its a nice introduction to this new hop, its a little bit one dimensional in that sense, like i want some bitterness too and i want as much of it in taste as there is in the nose, but its much lesser there. the flavor is very simple with such a dry malt base and more lemongrass than any stone fruit to my tongue. slightly oily, but thoroughly new england style. good carbonation and a drier and lighter finish than i was expecting at this abv. cool beer overall, very outer range, and a nice introduction to this hop, which i am sure we will see a whole lot more of in this context moving forward. delicious as always from these guys!
