a citra and azacca hopped belgian session pale, or table beer as they call it here, a nice fusion of the two things these guys have focused on to date, belgian beer, and more notably (and successfully i think), hoppy beer. this one is crystal clear with a warm fermented belgian complexion to me, estery and peary, winey, and with subtle green apple and grape, pink bubblegum, and peppery spice. its not all belgian action though, as there is a fair bit of hops here, less citra more azacca, some pine and melon and compatible spiciness, trying hard to match the forthrightness of the yeast, but coming a little short of fully balancing. tons of cotton candy sort of notes to this, fake fruitiness although there is nothing artificial, and an out of the way pale grain profile. fun beer, summery, but maybe a little too yeast forward to be sessionable for me, even at this low test abv. they could change some proportionality here to make a more mass appeal sort of beer, but this one is a pretty good hybrid of the two things they seem to do best.
