Thanks Steve!
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a purely thick burnt yellow milky orange color with a quickly dissipating foamy cap of a little white head. Sly ring of lace trickled around my glass.
The aroma had a strong sweet floral hop tone in front while bringing in some juicy citrus and tropical fruity pith notes along with some substantial bitter underlings of citrus rind.
The flavor seemed to meld quite nicely between the floral and juicy citrus. Not as tropical but I wasn't bothered, just noticeable. Mellow aftertaste of lemon sweetness, floral hop and some quick bitter dry rind-like character.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Nice and low carbonation as expected, soft. Sliding along my tongue nicely as a New England styled IPA should, this beer finishes with a touch of sticky mellow sweet floral character and some juicy citrus.
Overall, I like this one! I mean, I really like this one! Totally fits the New England style all around!

another collaboration, they have been doing a ton of them lately, this one with bearded iris, who has impressed me in limited exposure. its also another nelson bomb, this time combined with the newish barbe rouge, which i have not seen to much of so far, especially in beer like this. i was shocked to learn this is nearly 10% abv, its just so well hidden, perhaps covered up by all the hoppiness, which is super intense in here. its really pale in color, a whitewashed straw shade, and really frothy white headed from the can. not overly dense, but with the familiar out range haze. its all nelson in the nose, with perhaps a light berry note from the other varietal, like a juicy blueberry or something, but i get pineapple juice, lemongrass, and green grape from the nelson, it really drives whats going on here. nowhere is there a trace of its strength. the flavor is like the nose, so pungently hoppy its insane, but they have at the same time somehow managed to avoid the green vegetal bite that comes from over hopping and too much green in the beer. its smooth and almost creamy feeling, and even as we let it warm up, it never gets boozy, i would have guessed this to be around 7% abv, sneaky there! overall an awesome beer, probably my favorite of the recent round of cans i had from outer range. sexy packaging too. this one is a winner, they should keep it in their lineup permanently!
