Pours ruby brown at 54 degrees; creamy dark beige/light tan head; ok cap retention; solid ring; some sudsy lacing. Roast malt nose. Bitter roast, bittersweet dark chocolate taste. Medium light body; thin feel; moderate carbonation. Good long lasting bitter roast linger; I like and would definitely drink again.

 

 

16oz undated can poured into tulip pint glass at fridge temp 5.8% ABV. The beer pours dense black with nearly no light penetration and caramel colored head. The head recedes to a thin ring and single layer of bubbles. There is some spotty lacing. The aroma is moderate in strength featuring dark roasted malt and coffee. The taste is bittersweet, roasty, coffee interlaced with dark malt. Moderate bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation and a dry finish. Overall, very good. @beergoot, thanks for the can. I would be buying a lot of this if it were local to me.

 

16oz can with no freshness date. Opened 7-10-20.
3 finger tan collar with huge pock mark bubbles and long retention.
Slow fade down to a full 1/4" cap. Ample thick, fresh lacing left behind.
Black stout with a dark brown highlight edge towards the bottom.
Rich, roasty malt nose. Nutty, smooth coffee. Earthy and woody char. Grassy aroma in the finish.
Bitter roasted malt flavor. Licorice. Bitter cocoa powder. Mocha. Earthy coffee.
Medium body, low carbonation and smooth mouthfeel. Rich and long lingering dry finish.
This punches well above its 5.8% abv "weight". Extremely flavorful and well made.
Outstanding.

Tar black body; thin head yet lasting, creamy and sticky; rings of foam cling to the glass. Nice roasted grain aroma bordering on charred. Excellent charred grain flavor with notes of milk chocolate and cocoa to balance things out; nice astringent element to offset the sweetness. Heavy body; smooth and slick on the palate; grain husk dryness counterpoints the residual sugar body and sweetness.

This is a beautiful rendition of a non-barrel aged stout (so refreshing!). I see it as a mish-mash of dry stout / oyster stout / coffee stout (I don't know if coffee was used for this beer). Chock full of flavor and relatively low ABV makes this an easy drinking dark beer.

L - 4 - Dark as night. No, not last night, this night. Yeah, that one. DARK. Good lacing, not much head unless hard pour is executed.
S - 4 - Good roast, coffee impression, dark dough. Nice.
T - 4.25 - Where it shines; has a sharp coffee roast/mocha flavor to it, only issue is it trails off pretty quickly. Nice after-taste though.
F - 3.75 - A little thin, not huge by any means at 5.8% but still expected a fuller palate impression. Good carb-cream balance for a Stout.
O - 4 - another solid banger, out of the 'haze-bruh' obsession that seems to dominate their tap/can list, and proof they can do a lot MORE than just murky IPAs.
