Pours pitch black with no head. It's still in the glass, sitting like heavy used motor oil. Aroma is rich roasty and toasty malts, followed up by vanilla. Bourbon is an afterthought but present, adding a swell of heat the finish. From start to finish, it's a smooth crescendo as it leans into more and more notes. Flavor profile is roasty and toasty malts with rich caramel, toffee, and vanilla notes sprinkled throughout. Bourbon comes on at the end, adding a little extra richness and heat, although heat is minimal. Mouth feel is still and smooth with a little silt at the back. Thickness is full and thick. Overall, a dense and hearty stout that's enhanced by vanilla and bourbon. The still texture really helps this beer sit a little more heavy, emphasizing it's weight.
