16oz can. No dating information found.
Dark brown colored body. Brief lasting light tan head, what results is a ring and a couple of scattered islands. Leaves behind thin rings of lacing.
Aroma of malt char and a chocolate note.
Taste is dark toasted malt, which reveals a slight char bitterness and a strong chocolate note. A sweetness rises up at the end and extends into the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel has some fullness and an oily texture. Very good carbonation.
Smooth dark lager with some shared sweetness and bitterness. Drinking at a room warmed temperature releases more flavors.

Poured from a pint can. Not much head and no lacing despite a nice carbonation in the mouth. 4.8% ABV.

A nice dark toasty malt flavor and smell. Very light chocolate note and taste as it warmed, but no sweetness. Good mouthfeel and body for a lager.

A very solid Schwarzbier I’d like to try on tap.

Dark brown body, clear yet opaque in the glass; thick head, dense and foamy, light khaki color. Nice grain char smell; very mild dark chocolate undertones. Light milk chocolate flavor with a bitter, grain char note. Smooth, silky mouthfeel; oily residual sugar character.

Other than a prominent bitterness, primarily from the grain char rather than hops (in my estimation), this is a tasty, smooth bodied dark lager.

Pouring temperature: 43 °F; canning data: none seen
