Working through a some singles of the various offerings that Outer Range just brought to the Nashville market for the first time. I had enjoyed everything I had tried to date, but this one is really head and shoulders above.
Now-familiar pale yellow-gold fluid that's a bit milky and fully opaque, very reminiscent of pineapple juice. Small cap of bright-white head but the lacing is actually quite strong. Very, very juicy looking.
I'm honestly shocked this is a 100% Mosaic beer, because I'm getting things on the nose (and tongue) that are far outside what I normally expect from Mosaic. If I didn't know better, I would swear that there's some Nelson in here. Regardless, the aroma profile is really fantastic, jam-packed with incredibly dank greens (more green onion and garlic than weed, but there's plenty of all three) and then a huge pop of citrus and tropical fruits. Green grape, grape vine, honeydew (hence the Nelson mention), and a little crackery malt. I'm a sucker for that green onion note when it's balanced by some bright, fruity, juicy components, and this one strikes an awfully great balance.
Taste follows beautifully. Wonderful semi-sweet citrus juice kick up front (something some of the other OR hazies I've tried have been missing), then the greenery takes over. Out the back there's a nice balance of tropical notes, grapefruit pith, wine grape, and a slight starchy note -- the first I've noticed from an OR beer (maybe the DDHing at work?). But it washes away quickly with the nice, balanced finish between semi-sweet and bitter grapefruit juice. And man, the burps are glorious.
Same silky-smooth mouthfeel as the other ORs hazies I've tried, seemingly a little more substantial than the look would suggest but not chewy or sticky at all.
Absolutely outstanding beer. I will be picking up more of these for sure!

A: The beer is very hazy to cloudy pale whitish yellow in color. It poured with a short white head that left a narrow collar around the edge and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of stone fruit are present in the nose along with notes of mango.
T: The taste follows the smell and has additional notes of lime. Little to no bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied and juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is packed with aromas and flavors of Mosaic hops.
