Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden amber color with a pillowy head of white foam. The head has a good level of retention, fading and leaving a touch of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strongest of a bready and light grainy smell mixed with some mustiness and hay. Along with these smells comes a bit of caramel and notes of grapefruit and herbal hop.
Taste – The taste starts out with a crisp cracker malt base mixed with a decent amount of hoppiness of grapefruit and herb. At the same time there is a bit of caramel and tangerine sweetness, as well as some grass and hay. As the taste advances the hop gets a bit more intense, while the base flavor takes on a bit more graininess. Toward the end, a bit of toast and apricot come to the tongue, leaving one with a crisp and slightly more hopped up, for a pilsner, taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is light and crisp, with a higher carbonation level. For the mix of crisp malt, hop, and light sweetness the feel is great and makes for a nice sipper.
Overall – A rather pleasantly hopped pilsner with a great flavor and drinkability. Quite nice.
