The pour is stout black with a 1” light brown head that looked fine for about 20 seconds and then the bubbles got huge as it dissipated.
The taste is coffee forward, and not a smooth brew. A touch on the harsh side. The vanilla is present but has a hard time keeping up with the coffee.
The feel is good, just a touch viscous and very easy quaffing.
OA, won’t be a problem finishing the 4 pack, but probably won’t buy more.

Pours a clear dark, brown color, appears black in the glass; thick, tan colored head, soft and spongy, long-lasting. Fantastic nose; rich chocolate, coffee, and vanilla sweetness; mocha. The taste brings flavors of milk chocolate, sweet vanilla, and weak black coffee; light touch of bitterness, primarily from the coffee. Medium-heavy body; rich and smooth, very silky on the palate.
It's rare to find a non-India pale ale on the shelves from Outer Range. Seeing a coffee stout, I had to grab it right away. I have no regrets with this one and likely will purchase more. It's very tasty, has an excellent light ABV, and highlights the beer makeing craft that Outer Range can produce outside of their ubiquitous IPA offerings.
ABV: 5.5%; pouring temperature: 49 °F; canning info: n/a
Source: local purchase (Cheers! Liquor)
