On tap at Nine Spot Brewing in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a slightly murky golden brown color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells generically malty, with some sweetness and caramel.
This was brewed in a fairly inartful way – just very sweet and not crisp enough for the style. There’s very little classic deep breadiness, just caramel and an almost syrupy sweet thing going.
This simultaneously feels syrupy sweet but also too thin, somehow. It’s not all that drinkable.
Stumblin’ Monkey isn’t the greatest brewery, but they’re better than this paltry attempt at the style.
