375 ml bottle into a tulip snifter. A 2020 release, had 12/1/21.
Pours a dark, almost purplish brown, mostly opaque, with a quarter inch foamy head and light spotty cling. Aromas of bourbon, caramel, malt, toffee, raisins, some vanilla and fig, some butterscotch- in a good way, light oak, a hint of chocolate. The flavors are a little more focused- bourbon caramel, malt, vanilla, toffee, some fig and raisins, light oak- more as it warms. Smooth, a very good but slightly thinner medium body for the style, carbonated a little on the low side.
Terrific aroma, great barrels, nicely balanced between the barrels and the base. The slightly thin and flat feel makes me doubt it could be “cellared for years “as the label states. Very enjoyable.

Pours a reddish brown with red highlights along the edges, small khaki head fades to ring leaving a slight film on the glass. Snotlocker gets some toffee/caramel as soon as the cap's removed, caramel malts, figs and raisin. Taste reflects the aroma with the addition of some wood/barrel. Medium bodied, not much carbonation. I believe this is my first brew fron On Tour, based on this, it won't be the last.

I've come late to this party; but gleefully, my copy of Barton Hall has still stood up to time.
Barton Looks above average if I pour it from a considerable height; nice garnet body. Smells are best, full-on carmelized malt and, of course, the bourbon barrel. Taste is well-balanced without the dark fruit getting pushy against the barrel or the hops thinking its job is to coverup an amateurish melange. (The hops, correctly for this style, are merely an ingredient that I know is there and does not try to asset itself.) Together in harmony, all lingers in a distinct finish. My mouth is full, and enjoying it. No dessert is necessary tonight.
This is my third brew from On Tour. My first two were Belgians and I panned them as nice tries; they didn't have an active enough yeast. But Barton is a Mid-American invention within an old world tradition and shows talent above the norm of this, now, five year old brewer. Cheers !

Doused in 1/4” gold wax, this bottle was difficult to get open.
Dark mahogany brown, ample head of tan foam that rises to the rim and settles to a thin skim. Arcs of spotty lace to one side but fairly minimal otherwise.
Straightforward bourbon aroma, rich and caramelized malt character, vanilla, caramel toffee.
Malt bomb with ample bourbon barrel character. Scotch ale base holds up well, with lots of chewy toasted malt that lingers. Oak and vanilla linger into the aftertaste as well. Flavorful and somewhat dry without a lot of residual sweetness, moderate barrel heat.
Medium bodied, slightly thin feel, boozy and warming but rounded and not too harsh. Ample carb level.
Overall this is pretty nice, On Tour’s answer to Rev’s Gravedigger Billy.

Opaque dark brown pour with no head save some khaki collar. Wonderful whiskey barrel leading the nose, soaking raisin, date, fig, with caramel and brown sugar accents, with a kiss of earth. Taste is a wonderful complexion from the new world barrel and malt interaction: whiskey, oak, toasted caramel, dark cocoa, earth, light char, and tons of brown sugar coated raisin and fig. Feel is medium bodied but has great smoothness and warmth, a sipper though drinkable because you just want to take it all in. Enjoy as I did, on an early cool spring night by the fire with loved ones. The wife liked it

12.68 oz bottle dated 05 2020
Poured into a snifter shows a dull, dark brown body, that has a reddish glow when backlit, and sports an edge-hugging ring of ephemeral bubbles after the 1/8" head disippates.
Aroma is smooth booze and toffee.
Flavors of molasses, toffee, vanilla, join the oak, slight char, and toast. A hint of bourbon and caramel remains.
Mouthfeel is smooth, medium, and velvety, almost buttery, without coating the tongue, and leaving a booze warmth memory.
Overall a nice scotch ale on bourbon for slow sipping by the fire.
