Everyone knows Belgian brewers make some of the best beer in the world. At Masthead, we try to push the limits of flavor and creativity, while still staying true to style, quality and brewing history. This beer is who we are in a glass. Bold, yet subtle. Complex, yet simple. Classic, yet present.

A little disappointed to be honest. Masthead normally crushes it with their beers, but this one falls short. Minimal carbonation, very alcohol forward, tastes of watered down burnt brown sugar. Not sure I’ll be able to finish this, kind of sad.

Chestnut color, small head. Candied fruits, brown sugar, Belgian yeast twang. This is passable for a legit quad. Good.

Burnt copper-bronze with a creamy tan head leaving a pinkish-tan blanket and a smoothly thick raised collar.
Smell is toasted pumpernickel, cinnamon, clove and plum.
Taste is toasty with a touch of burnt caramel and bread, cinnamon spiced plum, some bitter wood, and nuts.
The smooth, luscious medium body has a creamy yet crisp fizz, finishing semi-dry. I'm not sure it needed the spices added, but maybe they are not fully confident in their Quad game yet. That can be forgiven.
