The humble honeybee is under siege. Colony Collapse Disorder is continuing to decimate honeybee populations. With no concrete solution in sight we have brewed this Double Dry Hopped Triple New England IPA with sustainably sourced local honey in an effort to raise awareness for the bleak future our pollinating allies are facing. Additionally, we will be donating part of the proceeds to Washington State University's bee research program. Together we can help the honeybee, promote biodiversity, and feel good about enjoying some hoppy beer.

16 ounce can into a tulip snifter. Canned 12/8/23, had 2/18/24.
Pours a hazy yellow orange, with a one and a half inch head of creamy foam with good retention and a good amount of foamy lacing. Aromas of pine, grapefruit, orange, some malt. Has a somewhat floral aroma and a lightly sweet smell. Flavors of grapefruit, orange, malt, light pine, some honey, a light hop bitterness. Tastes a little sweet and a little floral. Smooth, a touch creamy, a very good lighter body, well carbonated.
Flavorful and aromatic, the honey definitely adds some sweetness, but it’s not cloying. Very enjoyable.

Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. Date stamp is a little malformed but I think it says canned 12/18/23.
Appearance: medium pale orange with a pretty good haze and two fingers of frothy ivory foam. Pretty!
Smell: sweet indeed with a nice orange-creamsicle aroma and a definite honey character. The honey backs up the hops nicely; I like it anyway, and the novelty of honey + hops just tacks on a little bit more for me.
Taste: sweet, sweet, sweet. Hops have a little bit of orange peel and maybe some tropical type flavor, mango and passionfruit maybe, but the story here is the sweetness. I like it well enough, but damn, a 9.6% behemoth like this didn’t really need an extra sweetness element to it.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: a very sweet dessert type IPA. The honey is good, but I think the malt sweetness could be pulled back so that there’s not this piling-on effect. That said, I still like this beer, even if it will take me all night to finish.

16 FL OZ can
Served in a stemless wine glass
This beer pours a murky, dark orange color. It is topped with an inch of tan head that leaves spotty lacing.
I definitely get a sweetness in the smell from the honey. I get a little pine and grapefruit.
It has a pretty sweet flavor. I get citrus. Grapefruit in the finish.
Full bodied with a creamy mouthfeel
It's a triple IPA, so it is kind of sweet. I wouldn't call it a favorite, but it is not bad either.

Very cloudy with 2 fingers of off white head. Excellent lacing for such a big beer.
Sweet mango, papaya and honey on the nose and palate. Deep, sweet hoppy flavor profile. Slight bitterness on the finish.
Smooth, creamy mouthfeel with low carbonation.
Really nice offering from Masthead. On the sweet side but it works. Would definitely have again.

Excellent look with a smooth, creamy mouth. Definite hops and honey on the nose. Very pleasant but not particularly strong. Taste is similar but stronger. Honey is nicely integrated.

First of all props to Masthead for making this beer with raising awareness for the scary future of bees in mind. They are donating part of the proceeds from this brew to Washington State University's bee research program and used sustainably sourced local honey in its production.
L: slightly darker than usual pale haze
S: aromas are not as punchy or strong as some others
T: sweet forward. bold sweetness from the honey hits first. Followed by slightly subdued bitterness
F: crisp
O: loved it. wish I had bought more.
