Self Mummification is a Double IPA hopped aggressively with Cashmere, Idaho 7, Mosaic and Centennial. Expect notes of stone fruit, tangerine, and subtle berry rounded out with a punchy bitterness and dry finish. Self Mummification is a testament to the sacrifice we're willing to make in the pursuit of hoppiness.

Poured from a pint can, the body is a lightly hazy gold with a good white head.

Aroma is hoppy (and a bit like cat pee to be honest). Not great, but it's light.

Taste is a tamer version of the nose and much better. A wee bit of pine and a light waft tropical fruit. The bitterness is medium and upon finish does not linger. Dry finish. No sign of the ABV.

Mouthfeel is standard for style and good carbonation.

Clear yellow, yet sort of filmy, with a short white head.

This seems traditional at first, but quickly becomes a little unusual, almost waxy. It expresses spicy cologne, pine and Trix up front, but then a strangely herbal, not quite cannabic element crops up where it exhibits that slick and waxy coating quality that's hinting at nasturtium, a totally unusual characteristic for the style.

I've been a fan of Masthead since they started. My son works for the company in the building next door (Telos). They often had many of their best brew only at the pub, so this is a welcome release.

It pours a nearly clear golden with nice fine head. The aroma is a foreboding hoppy stank. The taste is fairly clean and very dry, with loads of lingering bitterness. It probably would linger too much for having with food.

Recommended. I wanted to like it more, but it is dry for such a powerful brew. That lack of sweetness will fool you.

I got a 4pck of cans of this beer from my local beer store located just around the corner. It poured a hazy copper with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had dank mango and apricot notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with pine resin and sweet malt base with musty tropical fruit highlights. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

1 PINT can
Served in a stemless wine glass

This beer pours a brilliant golden hue. It is topped with an inch of beige head that leaves little lacing.

Citrus and piney aromas with underlying stone fruit.

Resiny and piney flavor. Grapefruit pith.

Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel

Solid left coast IPA.

This is another really good double ipa from Masthead, I liked a few others a little more but this is still super crisp and goes down easy, the Idaho 7 comes out to make this taste a little more unique
