This Double IPA shows off our brew staff's favorite hops, Strata. When you open this can you'll be greeted with aromatic notes of pineapple, mango and sweet melon. The flavor continues with notes of pineapple and a soft pleasant bitterness. This beer is a testament that even in tough times, good things can happen.

Canned 01/26/23 on bottom of can. Poured into a BA 25th Ann teku - hell yeah!!
A: Medium amber with 1-finger off-white foamy head with good retention and lace down the whole glass.
S: Green melon, guava, and lime are most prominent with no esters
T: Flavor is ripe with similar fresh green fruit flavors including lime and green melon with additional flavors of cantaloupe, guava, and lemon grass. No significant malt flavors although it provides a solid backdrop. Clean with no esters. Bitterness is moderate to high. Alcohol is well hidden.
M: Body is on target for a West Coast, double IPA with light – medium body, moderate, carbonation, and dry finish.
O: Best Case Scenario from Masthead is a delicious showcase of the strata pop with plenty of green fruit flavor along with other tropical fruit crowdpleasers. Great WC-DIPA.

The best case scenario is I'm locked up in quarantine in a brewery that makes stuff like this and with a shitload of weed to make it through the apocalypse. Unfortunately I only have one of these brews.
It pours big IPA yellow and CLEAR ish. Nice, and old school AIPA without clouds. But wait, it is super dry and bitter like an American should. Oh, did I mention, this one is fresh. Nice, for a change.

1 PINT can
Served in a stemless wine glass
This beer pours a brilliant amber color and is topped with an inch of tan head that leaves very little lacing.
The smell is dank and earthy. I get some citrus as well. There are even hints of tropical fruit, and let's not forget pine.
The taste is dank and has flavors of juniper and pine. There is some grapefruit pith and resin.
Medium bodied with a velvety smooth mouthfeel
This is such a nice DIPA. I expect everything from Masthead to be hazy. This beer poured beautifully. It smelled like a Midwest IPA with elements of a West Coast IPA. The taste was resiny but contained some fruitiness in the form of citrus and to a lesser extent tropical fruit. It is a welcome change from the hazy fruit bombs that every brewery seems to lob at consumers. This beer is very enjoyable and went down way to easily.

Canned on 5/11/20. 16oz can poured into a tulip. Pours golden with great clarity and transparency; small white head that fades leaving solid retention and lacing. The aromas have a blend of citrus and tropical notes, but it's more on the citrus side. Subtle floral notes. Some crackers and malts. The flavors follow the nose. Some pineapple orange and grapefruit leading the way. More crackers. Mild sweetness. Nice bitterness and hop flavors. Malts do their thing while taking a backseat. Finishes juicy and dry at the same time. Mild warmth in the finish. Mouthfeel is full-bodied with active carbonation. It's sharp, spritzy, slightly fluffy, smooth and ultimately dangerously drinkable.
This is a pretty nice DIPA. It's bold and straightforward. Nice use of hops. The craftsmanship is on point. Well done.
