From the 16 oz can in a snifter. This solid doppel pours a nice clear ruby tinged brown
with an excellent head of khaki foam that settles to a thick ring, thin light film, and shows
some nice lacing. Nose of caramel, brown sugars, cherry, and light breaded malts. Flavors
follow the noise nicely with toasted malts, brown sugars, light breaded malts, cherry, and
nice spicy hops. Nice mouth feel; medium light body, medium light soft carbonation that
is nicely effervescent to offer lift, and a sweet malt driven finish that is nicely balanced.
Overall---solid for the style
Cheers

Canned on 12/31/21. 16oz can poured into a tulip.
Pours an amber/copper with ruby hues; great clarity and transparency; small light khaki head that fades leaving decent retention and lacing. Great color.
The aromas are malt forward. There's a decent amount of caramel. Hints of cherry. Some toast.
The flavors basically follow the nose for the most part. More caramel along with some toffee. More burnt toast. Lots of raisins. Some rye and black pepper in the mix. There's a nice little spiciness to this one. Pretty solid bitterness. Subtle sweetness. Solid malt backbone. Some alcohol flavors and notes in the finish.
Mouthfeel is nice. It's full-bodied with moderate to active carbonation. It's sharp, slick, smooth and slightly fluffy.
This is a pretty solid doppelbock. It's a classic and traditional example of the style, more or less. It's more bitter than expected, but not really in a bad way. The craftsmanship is on point and takes this one to the next level. It's enjoyable and fun to drink. It's also fitting for the colder weather. Well done.
