We’re packaging that new DNEIPA with Strata, Citra and Mosaic tomorrow right?” “What are you talking about? It hasn’t even been transferred!” Well, I guess you better get that transferred today then.” Surprise Transfer is a New England Style Double IPA brewed and double dry-hopped to celebrate the hard-working brewery staff members that make it possible. Expect a soft mouthfeel paired with notes of mango, passion fruit and papaya.

Masthead put out so many new brews lately that I have not been able to keep up. The name of this brew suggests they have trouble too. Their ambition has paid off. Their brews are some of the best in the area.
This one is a hazy, and it fits the bill in appearance with a hazy, light yellow, fizzy brew. The smell is also right where it should be - hops madness. The fresh hops further knock you out in the taste. The juicy hazy is somehow better balanced than most, with all this crazy freshness.
Highly recommended. I assume this is a one shot deal but it would be worth $5 a can to pick up whatever you can find right now. Or try more of their many new brews.

1 PINT can
Served in an oversized, stemless wine glass
This beer pours pale yellow and is turbid. It is topped with a couple inches of eggshell head that leaves decent lacing.
Nice citrus aroma with some medicinal hints
Big citrus flavor that focuses on grapefruit. Mild bitterness in the finish
Another gem from Masthead

This one is still pretty good but not as "wow that's good" as some of the other ones. I appreciate the basic and effective hop build and double dry hopping and its above average in its style still I'd say. This is for Cleveland Beer Week also it looks like, definitely would have it again.
