This one pours a fairly dark brown color, with a small white head, and not much lacing.

This smells very caramelly, with some chocolate, lots of maple syrup, and lots of bourbon.

This is definitely very intensely flavored, with tons of oaky bourbon barrel characteristics, but also a really boozy wheatwine base, and lots of maple syrup. It’s quite tasty, but also much better in much smaller amounts.

This is very boozy, a bit boozier than the more balanced beers that Masthead usually does. It’s intense, but tasty, with a nice bite on the finish.

This is super decadent, pretty tasty, but a little bit too intense and sloppy.

If this 500ML bottle is half as good as the ingredients, I’m going to be running around whooping in about six minutes. Copper-waxed for good measure.

The pour is prehistoric amber with a thin, spotty covering of bubbles. The nose is dominated by sweet, sweet maple.

Tree Blood strokes my sweet tooth with guided intention. Too many maple beers tease; this one delivers. Sweet, dripping maple with a low murmur of bourbon in the background & a light graininess from the underlying wheatwine. Touch of earthiness sticks around. Nice to swill something full without being gut-busting, though the ear-piercing sweetness limits the amount one could drink.

Overall this is a top-notch maple beer; another dollop or two of bourbon would have shot this into the beer hall of fame. Excellent as is, & zero complaints.

Downtown Cleveland, January, 2024, on our annual after-Christmas getaway!

Beautifully sweet and maple aromas.

Excellent offering, a little too sweet for my tastes, but excellent!

Definitely a sipper!

Pitch brown opaque body with a full beige head with weak retention. Rustic dark wheat, grains, maple, whiskey, and dark oak in nose. Taste is sweeter being more maple forward, with strong barrel, molasses, but rustic barley and grain there too in the spotlight to balance. Feel is lighter but makes up for it with booze, wheat, and slight esters of sweetness.
