Poured out of a 16 oz can into one of my mugs, this beer pours a medium to dark brown color along with some deep amber highlights when held up to the light. Has a slightly off-white head that's about an inch thick when first poured that settles to a thick ring lining the inside of the glass and some cluster swirls of foam on the beer's surface and bits of lacing on the inside of the glass. Aromas of moderately to heavily roasted, bready malts w/ nice hints of caramel and chocolate. A very similar flavor profile here, with a good amount of roast, bready malts, and caramel sweetness along w/ a hint of chocolate. The roast flavors do dissipate a bit and the sweetness does come through a bit more as the beer sits and warms up a bit, and a hint of dark fruits become apparent as well. Has some earthy hop notes as well that lend a bit of bitterness here. Has a crisp, slightly chewy, also somehow fairly smooth medium to full bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a clean finish, and the sweet flavors linger nicely on my palate after each sip. A pretty good beer here all around.
