Surf to Slope was brewed to celebrate hops from one of the few places in the world where you can hit the surf and then shred powder in the same day. This New Zealand Style Pilsner was brewed with Hop Revolution Nelson Sauvin, Riwaka and Pacific Sunrise hops and fermented cold to yield a crisp lager with bright tropical and white wine must notes.

I don’t know. Maybe it’s just me. I don’t feel this is a Pilsner. Didn’t taste the malt. No earthy bitterness. No bitter sweet finish. Too dank. Too think. A little bit of fruitiness in the finish. More of a bottom end IPA to me. Glad I bought a single. So many better pilsners out there.

Somewhere between a lacing and slight head... Bone white in color and comprised of big chunky bubbles... Limited retention... Color is a pale golden straw... Assertive hop nose, especially for the style... Citrus notes and pungent notes sits atop the more traditional cereal base... Palate is unique... Pungent with no citrus... Bone dry and light in body with a strong carbonated bite... unique and interesting, but not something I would indulge in with regularity...

Mildly foggy straw gold with a short bubbly foam that retains airy and light.
Smell is bonkers expressive of NZ hops: crackery, peppery white grape and lemon, highlighting well any toasty qualities underneath.
Taste follows through, first with toasty qualities then with a crisp tang and a semi-bitter, herbal finish.
Delicious!!! Admittedly I'm quite partial to New Zealand hops, and they often aren't done justice, this is an almost spot on simulation of physically eating a fistful of nelson hops without nuking your palate, all by way of a crushable vehicle.
