Glossy black and a little syrupy with almost no head to speak of on the fluid surface.
Surprisingly woodier than the double barreled Anti-Life I had before it, in contrast I get milk chocolate heavily countered by dry firewood and less maple than I expected. This actually makes Anti-Life taste more impressive, but pancakes slowly come up after it warms.

Having this beer on tap at the brewery. Drawn and served in a snifter glass, this beer is a very dark brown, almost black color with a tan head that’s about 1/8 of an inch thick on first drawn and served that settles quickly to a thick ring lining the inside of the glass and some slight swirls of surface foam dotting the beer’s surface. Aromas of very roasted malts, along with some chocolate, A hint of peanut butter, bourbon barrel goodness, and maple. The taste is pretty much exactly the same, and that is a wonderful thing, along with a bit of a boozy flavor as well. A quite well balanced flavor profile too w/ all the different aforementioned flavors going on here. Has a thick, slightly syrupy, just slightly oily, slightly dry, full bodied mouth feel. Just as I would expect a beer like this to have. All of the flavors really coat the palette nicely and linger there for quite a while after each step for the aftertaste. A very good beer here indeed.
