Dark brownish black with an oatmeal brown cap into a thick collar. Take away the apple brandy barrel and this is actually really nice, but the brandy is so boozy. Hot on top of a lush bourbon, maple wheat wine with a stout base. Smells as a result has apple brandy, maple, molasses, bourbon, caramel, dark oak, earthy dark wheat, and a hint of fall forest floor in that order of intensity. Obviously the mouthfeel is hot and boozy, yet not to the point of thin, just hot and unbalanced. Single barrel version anyone?

Another 500ML bottle. These guys boast an impressive 42.8% amazing rate currently. Hoping that number continues to rise in the next several minutes. Magenta wax.
The pour is very dark, with a reddish tinge betraying the non-stout bits of its heritage. Minimal head. Cherry sweetness in the nose accompanied by alcohol heat.
Far From The Tree - Double Barrel kisses gently. Plenty of alcohol for the Coors Keg Krowd & sophistication for the bearded belly boys. The various bits & pieces are accounted for. Smooth alcohol suffuses the palate & drifts into the sinuses. The apple brandy barrels are a subtle addition & the combo with bourbon leads to an almost brandy-like taste. Maple? Sweetness. Wheatwine? Background. Stout? More sweetness. Toffee, caramel, kick-change. Full but the w'wine minimizes the chance at the stout causing a system meltdown.
Pour this on my nipples, suck it off, & kiss me. Then knock it off & hand me the bottle. Knicks in above excellent with a small bonus for originality.

Pours cola brown-black. Slight head and foam that fades out too quickly, probably my fault again. I am getting a very strong malt and barrel combination here. It's bready, toffee, and caramel with a pleasant sweetness. There is some fruit along with the barrel, although I don't know spirits well enough to distinguish the difference. Very similar flavor profile. The alcohol is not overpowering despite the size. It is a bit warming going down, as one would expect, but it doesn't detract from the flavor at all. On top of all the bread, toffee, caramel notes, you get the flavors of the barrel. Apple brandy with maple wheat wine, what a nice idea. The beer itself is smooth but oily. Very full-bodied with solid carbonation.
I'm kind of impressed with how long the flavors stick around. They really live inside your mouth.

Having this beer on tap at the brewery, this beer draws a very dark brown color with some deep highlights around the edges. Not much of a head, even with the first drawn and served, But there is a thick, tan, foam ring lining the inside of the glass at the beer’s surface. But there is a thick, tan foam ring lining the inside of the glass at the beer’s surface. Aromas of toasted, caramel malt and bready sweetness along w/ A hint of wheat, bourbon barrel oak and apple brandy oak. Also a bit of alcohol. A very similar waiver profile, with the aforementioned toasted, caramel malt sweetness along w/ a bit of wheat and some apple brandy sweetness along with some bourbon and brandy oak notes and of course some booziness. The high alcohol content is nicely blended with the rest of the flavors and doesn’t stand out too much. Not really any discernible hop flavor here, and that does not at all surprise me. A quite exquisite flavor profile indeed! Has a smooth, slightly therapy, slightly oily androgynous, also smooth, full body mouth feel with moderate carbonation. This one really coats the inside of my palate, and all of the flavors of linger very nicely after each sip in the aftertaste.
