Having this beer on tap at the brewery, this beer draws a very dark brown, almost black color that is not interested in letting any light at all whatsoever. Not much of a head, even when first drawn and served, But there is a thin, off-white, foam ring lining the inside of the glass at the beer’s surface. Aromas of roasted, caramel malt sweetness along with some chocolate and coffee notes that gives way to bourbon barrel oak and some booze. A very similar flavor profile, with the aforementioned Roasted caramel sweetness online with some chocolate and coffee notes that are followed by oaked bourbon and some booziness. The alcohol is quite well integrated here though. Not really any discernible hop flavor here, and that is to be expected. Has a Somewhat syrupy, slightly oily, slightly Chris, also somehow smooth, medium to full body mouth feel with low carbonation. All of the flavors really coat the inside of my palate and all of the flavors linger nicely for the aftertaste long after each sip. A truly exquisite beer here.
