I've long had blind faith in Masthead brews, and that has served me well. So here comes a product the likes of which Masthead used to seem to keep only for the downtown pub. Lately, though, they seem to have been canning some exceptional brews.
It pours a not quite clear golden yellow and very appetizing. The aroma is a warning that some great brew is coming - hops. The taste is more than I bargained for. Big and full of juicy flavor and loads of bitterness. This is a serious brew. Good thing my 6 month chest shearing is coming! Loads of bitter hops - enough to completely drown out any malt sweetness. It's a big taste and I want to finish this before eating (but maybe I'll start cooking).
Highly recommended. I doubt I'll find more but these were great big ipas.
