Poured from a bottle (no date I could find) into a Belgian glass
L: poured deep red/brown, becoming dark cola and then deep porter/stout black in the glass. Small slightly brown head, light lacing as I sip
S: a nice, restrained sour aroma with a light bit of funk. Get cherries, some red wine, bit of bourbon
T: follows the nose, good amount of that cherry with a balanced amount of sour. Red wine present as well. Not sure how much of that bourbon barrel I'm getting, but may be more my perception/understanding of the flavors
F: nicely carbonated, body more "full" than I expected but feels appropriate
O: a great sour for Speciation, full of flavor and complexity yet very balanced. Nice and tart, a really great dark beer I would happily have again

This one pours a dark-ish brown/red color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
This smells like dark cherry skin, red wine vinegar, grapes, red wine, chocolate, and bourbon.
This is definitely a touch vinegary, but not as much as some other versions of this style. The malt backbone on this one is nice, as I get a bit of breadiness and a slight touch of chocolate here. There's lots of red wine, even though it wasn't aged in red wine barrels. There's a slight subtle bourbon character, and some nice oak as well, along with a big cherry fruitiness. I really enjoy this.
This is medium bodied, slightly creamy, and surprisingly full for the style. It's a slow sipper.
You don't see many American breweries tackling this style. It's nice to find a unique and tasty take.

Fantastic example of a Flanders red. Huge, deep, complex cherry sitting really well with a warm, oaky body. Sweet maple syrup warmth spreads through the mouth. One of the best of the style in Michigan.

Pours the color of cola, head has a redish tint of mostly small bubbles. Dissipates to a fine layer in a minute or so.
Nose is balsamic vinegar, grape, orange, cherry. Red wine aroma is also present. Alcohol notes on the back end.
Taste is sour orange and cherry, reminds me of popsicles. Tart notes are prominent but not cutting, very nicely balanced. Wild brett-y notes create complexity.
Mouthfeel has medium viscosity, quite lively bubbles. Dry and long, sour and fruity finish. Medium viscosity, quite lively bubbles.
This is a lovely beer, it has all of the nice barrel, fruit, and sour characteristics without feeling like I am eroding my gum line. Thanks @kemoarp

A - Pours a very dark brown with a large foamy tan head. The dissapates quickly leaving some light lacing.
S - Aroma is dark malts, tart cherries, plums, oak and light bourbon notes.
T - The taste is tart cherries, plums, lemon, red wine vingear, dark malts, oak and a kiss of bourbon in the finish.
M - Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Crisp mouthfeel with a princely dry finish.
O - This is a solid Flanders. The flavors are nice mix of dark malts and sour red fruits. The bourbon barrel is very subtle. Recommended.
