Dark copper to brown in color with no discernible head on top. The aroma is of pumpkin pie spice, caramel, cinnamon, and nutmeg. I’m tasting cinnamon, nutmeg, and pumpkin pie spice. The mouth is a touch warm and busy with spices.

16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla and caramel. Nice pumpkin pie taste with vanilla, cinnamon and spices.

really tasty beer, different for a pumpkin ale, almost a barleywine, or at least an american strong ale type of base, nice malt depth to this, sweet but not overly so, and with a real unique pumpkin profile, squashy and spiced, but not conventionally, some cinnamon and nutmeg here, and quite a bit of vanilla too, its rich without being diabetic, and is complex in a neat way with the grain layers, more than just a basic amber ale or something. the pumpkin is fleshy and earthy and sort of raw tasting to me, very fall, with some fallen leaf and forest sort of wetness to this, warming cinnamon, alcohol, and brown sugar, a touch of a graham cracker thing makes it pie-like too. i like the body and the relaxed carbonation, it really lets this linger on the palate awhile, and it warms me from the inside out, very festive and good. the fermentation profile isnt quite clean, there is a little ester in here but it works with the real pumpkin, and the aftertaste is excellent. each of us who ordered one really liked it. a good introduction to this real cool new brewery here in saint louis! one of the more interesting pumpkin beers of the season for me this year.
