A full-bodied American brown ale that is extra dark, slightly roasty and nutty with a creamy finish due to a light touch of lactose. Soft fruit notes can be detected from hops usually found in West Coast IPAs.

This brew is a murky brown color with a light tan head. The aroma has some chocolate and light-roast coffee flavors. The taste is balanced, if not just a little sweet. Medium body and a chocolate-coffee lingering finish. I don't see many brown ales anymore, so this was a nice treat.

I am trying this beer off the tapper at The brewery as part of a four sample flight. It poured a nearly opaque dark mahogany amber with off white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had roast notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with roast malt base and subtle dark fruit highlights. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

On draft at the brewery. Poured a dark, dark brown color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left some sudsy lace on the glass. It smelled of chocolate, some toffee, caramel and coffee. Sweet chocolate and caramel taste with a coffee-like bitterness.
