From a sixteen ounce can, this beer is a ruddy light brown color. The head is a dense off-white. Pleasant aroma of toasted malt, a bit of roasted grain notes, chocolate, and bread crust. The taste is flavorful...roasty, malty, and a little hop bitterness for balance. A touch of yeast flavor as well. Light body. I really enjoy this style. I wish there were more solid examples.

Poured from 16-ounce can into a glass tumbler. Chestnut colored pour, with a light tan head. This is an example of why I wish there were more beers of this style available. Great depth of flavor in a lighter-bodied ale, lower ABV, good with food, highly quaffable. Forget those so-called "session beers." This is where you want to be!

16oz can pours a deep, reddish-brown color with a small cap of dark tan-colored head that fades to a thin ring. Smells strongly of dark roasted malts, coffee, and chocolate. Rich flavor of roasted malts with a hint of charred/burnt malt and a very slight sweetness. Nice dark bread, toffee, and caramel, and distant cocoa flavors accompany the malt for a pleasant and complex flavor. Small bitterness that closes out the beer nicely and almost feels like an extension of the dark malt flavor. Light to medium body with a slightly watery feel (in a good way, though), mild carbonation mouthfeel and a slightly bitter aftertaste.
This was a really good example of a dark mild; I'm definitely impressed with how well a US brewery was able to pull off this style. Will absolutely be buying again.

Had on tap. Murky opaque shades of brown with a tan head. Smells mostly of roasted malt and toast. Taste is led by roasty malts in an airy way, with charred earth, bitter cocoa, and toast rounding out. Delicate yet never dainty or thin, smooth and roasty

On draft at Bluewood. Poured out a clear, golden yellow color with a small, off-white head of pillowy foam. It left sudsy patches of lace. It smelled of bready notes, cereal malt and a flora aroma. Sweet caramel, light toffee flavors, some citrus and a mild bitterness.
