Tall aluminum can with an intricate label. The beer is a pretty amber color, clear, with a tall off-white head. The head is dense and lasting, leaving intricate and stable lace. The aroma is of fresh bread, toast, and malt. The taste is moderately sweet with plenty of malt and a hint of caramel. The beer dries out by the finish, which has a pleasant hop bitterness. Enjoyable.

16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left sudsy lace on the glass. It smelled of toasted bread, caramel and maltiness. Sweet caramel, toffee and a touch of bitterness.

16oz can pours a rich brownish-orange color with a small, fizzy head of light tan-colored foam that fades down to a thick ring at the edge of the glass. Smells of toasted malts and noble hops. Rich and hearty flavors of toasted bread, caramel, and a very nice but slightly pungent, strong flavor of spicy and herbal noble German hops. Slight sweetness with a mild to moderate bitterness that forms most of the aftertaste. Medium body with a smooth but fizzy mouthfeel.
The hops lend a very rich complexity and depth of flavor, but they also end up lending more bitterness than you'd typically expect of Märzen. I think if they could preserve the hop flavor but pare down the bitterness just a bit, this would be more balanced and near perfect. This was really fun to try but not sure if I'll buy again this year.
