Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into my snifter. Picked up at the brewery last week. no date stamping on the can.
The beer pours jet black into my glass and a minimal tan head foams up and quickly fades to a very thin edge layer. No lattice when I swirl or sip.
Aroma is fudge brownie and hints of toffee and bourbon with a little sweet maple syrup. No hop character to be found here.
First sip reveals a pretty big body and sticky texture. Very fine and prickly carbonation as well and these bubbles are very active on my palate on each mouthful of beer.
Flavor is similar to the aroma with some fudge brownie and caramel, mixing and some bourbon too. Maple is very faint but present on the finish which gives way to some warming booze that lingers after each sip from my glass. This is a boozy imperial stout and one that I will be sipping for many hours still. Another solid big beer for the Anniversary shenanigans from Armada!
