Had a can pour at Burgeon Tap Room/ Carlsbad. Excellent hazy ; super fresh fragrant and tasty, smooth with nice crispness. Nelson evident but really marries with Citra. Flavor merges best of both.
Hope to try on tap.

Type: 16-oz. can
Glass: Melvin 14-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
From: La Mesa Wine & Spirits in La Mesa, Calif.
Price: $6.99
Purchased: Dec. 7, 2018
Consumed: Dec. 8, 2018

Misc.: Canned on Nov. 13, 2018
Picked this up with five others at Windmill Farms. Burgeon pretty much does everything right, so was expecting good things with this one. Short description called it a “Hazy IPA hopped intensely with Citra and Nelson.” Well, let’s see how intensely we’re talking about here. Hopefully at least as intense as the price ($6.99 for a can).
Poured a bright hazy golden color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy white head. Could not see any bubbles underneath the head. Excellent foamy spiderweb lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled mentioned hops of Nelson and Citra right away, reminding me of Modern Times Space Ways. Also got dank pine, grapefruit, white wine, viney berry, herbal and green leaf. More Citra than Nelson from the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted even better than the nose. Wow. Didn’t know Nelson could ever be that smooth. Got Nelson, Citra, dank pine, grapefruit, white wine, light peppery spice, papaya, viney berry, herbal, green leaf and some mango. So good. (Taste - 4.50)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Long, juicy, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.75)
This beer was lovely. So much juice and so smooth. (Overall - 4.50)

Loved this when it came out! This beer made me a NE IPA lover forever. I can’t wait for its return back in the tasting room! Anthony, Derek and Matt are killing it up here in Carlsbad!!!!!

16oz can, 19 days old, served in a snifter glass. Pours a hazy orange-yellow body, pretty much orange juice in appearance although thankfully not pulpy; one finger white head, good retention and lots of lacing. Smell is rich oranges, citrus, grapefruit and light spice that is distinctly Nelson; a bit of tropical fruit. Minimal caramel sweetness, light mineral rounds the nose out. Really juicy. Flavour is heavily fruity, tropical fruit, freshly squeezed orange and a bit of pineapple, rindy grapefruit, light caramel, mild spicy bitterness on the backend that isn't particularly bitter, making for a juice experience. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, good carbonation, easy to drink, mild bitterness. Overall, if this was canned in a Trillium can, people would be trading these all over the country. Fantastic local Southern California take on the NE IPA style.

I believe this is their first NE IPA and they just had their grand opening last weekend....where on earth did these guys come from?!? This beer is probably the single best (or at worst top 3) NE IPA out of San Diego to date. Hazy, murky pale straw color. Smell is citrus and tropical fruit, taste is classic nelson up front, white grape and melon. Solid mouthfeel and a nice juicy finish with just a hint of bitterness. Really nice balance. Can't wait to see what these guys put out next.....

Well, well.. very new brewery, busting out some hazy magic right off the bat. Looks super thick, murky, opaque. Smell is initially very juicy, with hints of citrus, some papaya, and some mango. Smell dissipated quickly, though. I think additional dry-hopping would have gone a long way here.
Taste is classic NE IPA. Tons of juice, citrus, yeast, and some great hop bitterness at the end. Amazing first effort from a place with a lot of potential. Can't wait to see what's next.
