Had this at Hoffer’s as part of a four half-pour review day. Have liked pretty much everything I’ve had from Burgeon’s and was expecting the same here. Untappd description read, “Northeast Style Double IPA hopped with all Australian hops: Enigma, Summer, Galaxy and Vic Secret!” I knew Galaxy heading in, was somewhat familiar with Vic Secret and had no clue about Enigma or Summer. This would be interesting.
Poured a hazy straw color with 2-to-3 fingers of white rocky head. Slow bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Outstanding spotty foamy lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smelled melon, apricot, pineapple, stone fruit, grapefruit, grass and trash. Got Galaxy as well for sure. (Smell - 4.00)
Wow. Surprisingly tasty. Very different for sure. Got candied sugar, melon, cantaloupe, pineapple, apricot, peach and stone fruit. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Sweet finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Really enjoyed this one as I expected. Outstanding. (Overall - 4.00)
